1976

Production commences at Merck Sharp & Dohme's new facility in Ireland.

1978 Solvent recovery, additional warehouse and production facilities are added to assist expansion of the plant's manufacturing capacity.
1987 A five-year programme of environmental upgrades costing IR£30m is launched.
1994 A new process control system is installed, enhancing productivity, quality, safety performance and environmental protection.
1994 A small-scale facility is built, expanding the plant's manufacturing capability and enabling the production of speciality products.
1997 Due to increasing demand for Merck's products, the site embarks on a two-year Capacity Expansion Project costing £130m.
1999 The new manufacturing facility commences production, increasing capacity by 50 per cent.
2006

Commercialisation activity commences.

2007 Construction commences on Formulation R&D and Manufacturing facility.
